COVID-19 Update

Good Afternoon Faith Bible Church Family,

It seems with this coronavirus things are changing by the hour in our country. I sent an email to all of you last Friday outlining our decision on services and events at Faith. I also mentioned Sunday morning that all of that was subject to change, and there have been changes over the past couple days.

New York Governor Cuomo and his administration have made some mandatory changes for our state, along with some strong suggestions on how we conduct ourselves over the next couple weeks. Yesterday President Trump and his administration announced suggestions for us to adhere to over the next fifteen days. One of those suggestions include encouraging people to “avoid social gatherings in groups of more than ten people.”

I am reminded of the words of the Apostle Paul in Romans 13:1-7 but specifically verses 1 and 2, “Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment.”

At this time the government is not asking us to do anything that would violate God’s Word, so in order to be good citizens and set a godly example to those around us, I believe we need to do our best to comply with the requests made of us.

In speaking with our deacons and coming to an unanimous decision, we will be suspending all church services and functions for at least the next two weeks, which will take us to April 1st. At that time we will have to evaluate where we are as a country with this virus and what other restriction may have been placed on us.

We are attempting to video the Sunday messages and make them available to you on the church’s Facebook page. I’ll give you more information on this later in the week.

As a recap:
No Sunday school or services on Sunday, March 22 and 29.
No Wednesday activities (Olympians, Youth, Prayer Meeting) on March 18 and 25.
No Men’s Breakfast on Saturday, March 21.
FASCAR scheduled for Saturday, March 21 has been postponed and will be rescheduled for a later day.
No Operation Christmas Child Craft Night  on March 30.

* * One last important issue. Our church functions on the tithes and offerings of our people. Even though we will not be meeting for a couple weeks we still need you to be consistent in your giving. You can always mail your giving to the church at:

I’ll keep you up to date on things pertaining to our church as we move through the days ahead. If anyone needs me you can still call me on my cell.
